Haley Ambulance Service
1930's - 1994
Denver CO
Founder: Bob Haley
Acquired by MedTrans in 1994
The Haley family operated the ambulance company out of the family home at 26th and Yates in Denver. The Dispatch center was in a back bedroom, and the crew quarters was located on the third floor of the house. In 1976, Mrs. Haley was running the company. She owned two dogs that the crews had to 'dodge' when coming down to run a call. She also had a pet monkey named 'Doc' who, lived in a cage over the refrigerator in the main kitchen.
Later the business was moved to Tennyson and Colfax in Denver, and the family sold the business to two employees (John Jungclaus and Don West) in the late 70's - early 80's.
